Request Help

From DAN

Diabetes Aid Now’s request form is temporarily closed as we work through our current requests.

DAN cannot help you in an emergency! If you are totally out of insulin or medication please seek medical treatment immediately!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

Diabetes Aid Now is a new US-based mutual aid group that connects diabetics in need of medication, supplies, and resources with those who have extra to share.

It can take us up to 3 days or 72 hours to respond to a request. (We are a small all volunteer group.)

Any diabetic, their caregiver, or a trusted person can request help for a diabetic in need.

DAN does not have possession of funding, medication, or supplies. We maintain a database of people who do, and our volunteers act as liaisons to facilitate connections. Learn more about DAN here.

Request process:

a. Fill out the form linked above

b. Based on how you told us to contact you, you’ll get a text message or email from a DAN volunteer asking to confirm what you need

c. DAN volunteers will check our database of supply and resource sharers for what you need, and begin coordinating the shipment, pick up, or drop off

d. A DAN volunteer will talk to you about the options we have available and confirm your shipping address or meeting location

e. A DAN volunteer will forward you a shipping tracking number or meeting confirmation and contact information, after we receive it from our sharer

f. Learn more about what we do with your information after your request is fulfilled.

Receiving shipments:

→ Open and unpack your shipment as soon

as you’re able to

→ As a precaution, always check to make sure the supplies you’ve received are sealed and in proper condition

→ If the supplies are meant to be refrigerated, like insulin, check to make sure the liquid is completely clear and uniform

If the liquid is discolored, crystalized, frozen, chunky, separated, or cloudy, do not use it, and throw it out

→ Please reach out to DAN, via text, email, or call if there are any issues with the supplies you’ve received
